Northminster Presbyterian Church Announces North of Chicago: Shorefront Stories and Legacies Exhibition
Northminster Presbyterian Church (located at 2515 Central Park in Evanston) is pleased to announce the September 26th opening of North of Chicago: Shorefront Stories and Legacies in its Tower Gallery exhibition space. In partnership with Shorefront Legacy Center, this exhibition will feature portraits and panels from the Shorefront traveling exhibition collection, highlighting the stories and legacies of African-American life on Chicago’s North Shore.
The exhibition will be in place through November 21st with several public opportunities for viewing during that time.
This exhibition is hosted by the Racial Justice Task Force and the Worship, Music and the Arts Committee of Northminster Presbyterian Church. For most current exhibition information, call the church office at 847-869-9210.

“Reparations” is a word sparking public curiosity — and controversy. The reparations conversation has moved into action as politicians, academic institutions and religious denominations across the country have recognized their role and responsibility to help right the massive wrongs of slavery and its aftermath.
This three-session workshop Series will explore what “reparation” means, how Evanston’s history of exclusion and discrimination calls for repair, what is happening with our current Reparations programs — and consider how we, as people of faith, are called to act at this significant moment in history.
