Who We Are

Our Vision

Interfaith Action of Evanston strives to build a just community. We work with diverse faith communities and individuals seeking to address the systemic issues of poverty, unemployment, homelessness and hunger. Through interfaith dialogue, we bring people together to build relationships and encourage understanding across faith boundaries. We partner with local legislators, community leaders and our neighbors to promote a healthy and equitable society.

Our History

Evanston Ecumenical Action Council was formed in 1970 and was an association of local Christian churches for nearly 40 years. In 2006, the EEAC voted to expand the membership to all religious and spiritual communities and to change the name to “Interfaith Action of Evanston.”

Our Community

Based in Evanston, Illinois, we are a non-profit organization. Membership is open to any faith organization that actively participates in our mission and affirms that it wants to be a member. We also welcome individuals throughout the greater Evanston area who are interested in volunteering and supporting our services, events and other initiatives.
