Advocacy
Interfaith Action of Evanston seeks to address the systemic problems that contribute to homelessness and hunger. Specifically, we monitor city policies and proposals that may affect the well-being of individuals who are either homeless or hungry or whose housing and food resources may be insecure. More broadly, we seek to:
- Educate IAE's membership and the broader community about the root causes of and issues surrounding homelessness and hunger
- Leverage the membership to create a voice that calls for desired changes
- Use that voice to effect political, economic, and community change
OUR COMMITMENT TO ANTI-RACISM
We are committed combating the institutional racism that exacerbates hunger and homelessness. To that end, we are addressing the following:
- Are our programs functioning to support the humanity of all our guests?
- How can we use white privilege to confront the institutional and community biases that hurt our guests?
- What are we doing to recruit a diverse board and staff?
